Gold miners, gold funds and the gold price

The metal, plus the companies that mine it or finance mines. Miners tend to move more than gold does. 20 symbols, each with a line on what it is.

There are three ways to follow gold here, and this list keeps them together. First the metals themselves, gold and silver, as futures prices. Then funds: one that tracks the gold price and one that holds many gold mining companies. Then the companies: miners that dig the metal out of the ground, and royalty and streaming companies that finance mines in return for a share of what they produce. Miners carry their own costs and risks on top of the metal price, and their shares tend to move more than gold does. The full version adds a silver fund, funds of smaller gold miners and of silver miners, and more producers in Canada, the US, South Africa and elsewhere. Each row says in a few words what it is.
